Activities For Kids in Summer – My Day At Kelso Beach

Looking for a mini escape from reality that everyone will enjoy?

I spent a day at Kelso over the weekend and there was no shortage of things to do. I began my day hiking the trails of the Niagara escarpment. There were beautiful views and I could even see the CN Tower!

I took the opportunity to go cave exploring, a fun activity for teenagers in the summer, and had a mini adventure in one called the “Lemon Squeeze”. Being in an underground cave is something I definitely had never done before; you could feel the temperature instantly drop once you got down there.

After all that adventuring I decided to hit the beach with a picnic, the perfect way to end the day with some relaxation. Swimming and sand always means many activities for kids in summer. There are lifeguards on duty and ropes marking the areas      Adapted from http://www.conservationhalton.on.ca/
as they get deeper, so you don’t need to worry about any safety issues.

That’s all I had time to do in my day but check out more activities at Kelso Conservation

How will you fill your day at Kelso?

Fun summer kids activities: My story of my Wild Water Kingdom Adventure

As a child I had never experienced anything that could live up to the standards of Wild Water Kingdom. I still feel this way because it is the greatest experience for fun kids summer activities, you can enjoy it with family and friends.

When I was 8 years old I had a neighbor who was around the same age as me; the difference between us was our parents. My mom and dad are conservative and home bodies, her parents were wild and fun, they came over and asked my parents if I could accompany their family to Wild Water Kingdom that day, after begging and pleading that it would be fun summer activities kids would enjoy, they agreed.
Upon arriving at the park I saw hundreds of kids with their families running towards this park and that is when I saw the giant water slide! I had the best experience of my life there and will remember it always. It was fun, I went down super slides, I swam, I sat in tubes and floated in the lazy river, I got my face painted and I ate cotton candy. It was memorable and definitely one of the best fun kids summer activities out there!

How was your first experience at Wild Water Kingdom? Or any similar water wonder park?

What games do you recommend at Playdium for fun summer kids activities?

There is a Playdium located very close to my home in Mississauga but I am unsure if this would be classified as fun kids summer activities.

I am wondering what people can suggest about Playdium that would make it fun for kids in Mississauga. I believe they have a rock climbing wall and a go-carting area that opens up in the summer but I am unsure what other activities they have that would make it an enjoyable experience. What are the age groups that can attend Playdium?
I have been looking up kids activities Mississauga and have seen this posted on many different areas suggesting it should be a good experience. I want to make this a pleasant summer for kids and teenagers and need some guidance to keep it a fun filled experience to remember.

What are your views of Playdium? What do you recommend we try out if we go? Do they have an area to enjoy lunch or dinner?

Mississauga Square’s Rib-fest

Adapted from http://www.rib-fest.com/index.html

This is my review of Mississauga Square’s rib-fest and why you should check it out this summer.

I’d like to start off by saying I have never had better ribs than the ones I tried at rib-fest. Rib-fest is unique in that it brings all the best BBQ from near and far and puts it conveniently in one local place for you, in Mississauga Square.

Not only are the ribs fantastic but you’ll also find other options offered such as freshly squeezed lemonade and blooming onions, which are a must try if you have never had them!

The live music isn’t my taste but its something to watch as you eat your ribs.

As for keeping the kids busy there’s a kids zone, which is entertaining enough, but they also offer a live performance for them as well leaving everyone happy. Rib-fest is a great place in Mississauga for kids this summer as well as a great way to treat yourself.

What rib booth are you looking forward to most this summer?
